[“Do they look for anything except that Allah should come to them in canopies of clouds and the angels and the matter is decreed? And to Allah all matters are returned.”]1.
And the canopies of clouds are a metaphor for the attributes through which He appeared to His creation in humanity (al-bashariyyah) and luminosity (al-nuriyyah) due to their need for them, while He in His Essence transcends every description and attribute. And among the sayings of the Exalted in this regard: [“Do they look for anything except that the angels should come to them or your Lord should come or some of the signs of your Lord should come? The Day that some of the signs of your Lord come no soul will benefit from its faith if it had not believed before or earned through its faith some good. Say, 'Wait, indeed we [too] are waiting.'”] 2 , among other parts of His speech that point out that He Glory be to Him, will manifest Himself to His believing servants on the Day of Resurrection.
