As for those mouthers of idealism who maintain the causality of the intellect, claiming that it is the cause of existent things and that which precedes them—which points out their imagination and the deficiency of their intellect, for which they claim primary causality—it is that up until now, before it, and after, it has not been able and will never be able to perceive the essence of many things in themselves, such that it has not even been capable of perceiving the essence of its own self by itself. And indeed, the clearest evidence is that it is the trace of the activity of a prior influencer, and an effect of an eternal, sempiternal cause;

and that it has not ceased, and will not cease, while on its path of solving the problems of existence and examining the secrets and hidden depths of the universe, to vacillate between refutation and confirmation, and hesitation and advancement. And that which is uncovered to it today was veiled from it yesterday, and that furthermore, it has no subsistence by itself.

As for the advocates of dualism who maintain the causality of the intellect and matter combined, their fallacy is manifest and apparent through what we have clarified regarding the weakness of matter and the deficiency of the intellect. Added to that, among what demolishes the correctness of their claims, is that they made what they believe to be the effective cause in existence composed of two causes or two things: the intellect and matter, instead of it being a single cause and a single reality—since among the attributes of the Primary Principle of the universe, and the first of its characteristics, is the fulfillment of unity and the negation of multiplicity.
