which He casts into the hearts of whomsoever He wills from among His servants.”
[30] On the authority of Murazim, he said: Abu Abdillah—His might was mighty—said to me: “Indeed, our matter is the truth, and the truth of the truth; and it is The Exoteric (Al-Zahir), and The Esoteric (Al-Batin)of The Exoteric (Al-Zahir), The Esoteric (Al-Batin) of The Esoteric (Al-Batin); and it is the secret, and the secret of the hidden secret, and a secret veiled by a secret.” 1 .
[31] Our master Al-Kazim—Majestic and Sublimed is He—said: “Indeed, the most wretched of your wretched ones is he who accuses us of lying in The Esoteric (Al-Batin) regarding what is reported on our authority—he believes us in The Exoteric (Al-Zahir) and accuses us of lying in The Esoteric (Al-Batin).” 2 .
