I said: 'No, by Allah, O my master, I do not know.' So he said: 'Think about it, for it is from your knowledge.' So I thought about it for a year, yet I did not know what it was. So I said: 'By Allah, I do not know what it was.' So he said: 'Were it not that I planted you (gharastuka) with my hand and originated you first and last up to this time of mine, I would have said that you are dark.
Woe to you, reverse it!' So I said: 'Yes, O my master,' and behold, its meaning is 'empowered' (musallat) from the aspect of dominance and empowerment. Thereupon, I fell down prostrating. So he said: 'If your prostration were to me alone, you would surely have been among the successful; and indeed, your ancient forefathers prostrated to me.'”
So let the onlooker contemplate Jabir's oath by his master, while an oath is only binding by the exclusive names of Allah alone. Then let him contemplate the saying of the Master Al-Sadiq to Jabir: “I planted you with my hand and originated you first and last.” Then let him reflect even more upon the matter of Jabir's prostration to his master, and the saying of the Master to him at that time: “If your prostration were to me alone, you would surely have been among the successful; your ancient forefathers prostrated to me.” The Exalted said:[“And any of His signs are the night and the day and the sun and the moon. Do not prostrate to the sun and nor to the moon, but prostrate to Allah, who created them, if it should be Him you worship.”] 1 .
