[311] And from it also: "And it is narrated in the report that the most delicious blessing the people of the Garden find, and the most pleasant melody they hear, is the intimate communion of the Originator - majestic is His praise -, and that is His, the Almighty's, saying: ['Their greeting the Day they meet Him will be "Peace." And He has prepared for them a noble reward'] 1 , and ['And the last of their call will be, "Praise to Allah, Lord of the worlds!"] 2 ." And it is said that Moses, when he heard the intimate communion of his Lord, there entered him of the joy, and the happiness, and the pleasure what he could not control himself [with], until he was delighted and hummed, and every melody, tune, and voice became small to him after that.
And it was reported from the Sheikh Muhyi al-Din bin Arabi, his saying:
The sun of passion (al-hawa) in the souls appeared
So the hearts radiated at it.
The love is more appetizing to me than what
the perceptive Gnostic (al-'arif al-labib) says.
O love of my Master, no saying
from me, for the living is not pleasant.
No intimacy (uns) is pure for the heart except
when the beloved manifests to it.
And to him also belong these beautiful, expressive verses:
The fire kindles in my heart and in my liver
[in] longing to the light of the essence of the One, the Eternal Refuge (al-Samad).
So be generous upon me with the light of the essence, uniquely
until I become absent from the unification (al-tawhid) by the One (al-Ahad).
