"And there is no path to the knowledge of these stations (al-maqamat) except by His knowledge (and the pronoun in the [letter] ه returns to the Originator), and His knowledge is not valid except by His essence (bi-dhatihi), and His essence is not known except by His vision, and His vision is not possible except by His manifestation (bi-tajallihi), and His manifestation is not perceived in its perfection, because the manifestation falls according to the strength of the looker toward it."
"And its meaning is the lifting of the veil, the veil of darkness from the sight of the beholder, so that he may witness from the essence of the manifesting one (al-mutajalli) according to the extent of his capacity in the limit of his inability and the dullness of his sight from witnessing the light of divinity (al-lahut), without change in the essence of the manifesting one by a motion which necessitates transition for Him from the state of His hiddenness (butunihi). And He was only witnessed by that from the part of the turning of the hearts and the sights, and that is in the witnessing of the testimony (mushahadat al-shahadah). So He is exalted above motion and rest, and is sanctified from the indwelling of bodies, and change, and corruption. And He is the Capable who does not become incapable, and the Manifest who does not fragment, and the directions do not contain Him, and the names and the attributes do not fall upon Him."
"The Living, the Knowing by His essence, the Independent of His names and His attributes and the rest of His originated things (mubtada'atihi). He does not act except [as] origination (ibda'an). His existence bestowed originating the existence of the monotheists (al-muwahhidin).
