So at that, He, Glorified be He, said: ["Say, 'O Allah, Creator of the heavens and the earth, Knower of the unseen and the witnessed'"] 1 , [meaning] the upper world and the lower world, "'You will judge between Your servants'" meaning: You will manifest between Your servants in what they used to differ concerning it by answer and denial. And from it is His saying - Exalted and Majestic is He - concerning that: ["It is the same [to Him] concerning you whether one conceals [his] speech or one publicizes it and whether one is hidden by night or conspicuous by day"] 2 . He intended whoever concealed the acknowledgment or the rejection. And He meant by "the conspicuous by day": the acknowledger of the manifest person (al-shakhs al-zahir), the originator of the evident, established power. And He meant by "the hidden by night": the persisting denier of that manifest person with the dazzling power.
"And that is because He said to him: 'Look at the body (al-jism) by which I have manifested you in humanity (al-bashariyyah), has it carried anything of the luminous divinity (al-lahutiyyah al-nuraniyyah)? And deviated from its being which is of its luminous essentiality (jawhariyyatihi al-nuraniyyah)?' Because he knows that the luminous essence (al-jawhar al-nurani), if what is homogeneous with it manifests to it, it stands firm for it, and what is other than that perishes. And He has made clear the truth of the address by His saying: 'So when his Lord manifested to the mountain, He made it leveled (dakkan)' and it is the name falling upon the body which is the mountain, 'and Moses fell down struck unconscious (sa'iqan)'."
