[303] The narrator said: And the Commander of the Faithful - Exalted is His Might - approached after a time. So when the Messenger of Allah - Exalted is His Might - saw him, he stood for him and kissed him between his eyes. So Abu Dujanah Simak bin Kharashah al-Ansari - may Allah be pleased with him - said to him:

"O Messenger of Allah, [just] this hour you were saying to us that Allah commanded us, the assemblies of the prophets, that we do not stand except for the Lord. And you raised Ali and you said the child does not stand except for his parent, and the learner except for his teacher, and the pupil except for his wise one, and you are more knowing than Ali and Ali learned from you, and you said the small does not stand except for the great, and we have seen you stood for Ali and you are greater than him."
