So the Commander of the Faithful said to him: "May your mother be bereft of you! I conditioned the sun and I manifested the moon, and by my power the stars travel, and by my will the celestial sphere rotates. I owned the kings by my power, and the lords were enslaved by my might; their hearts and their forelocks are in my hand. And by my might and my majesty, not more than ten of my companions will be killed, and I shall not leave of the people except ten.

And if I had stored for them what I have, nothing of that would have reached them. I am Allah, whom there is no deity except Me, this is a straight path."

And he traveled to al-Mada'in. And there was from the hadith of the basin (al-Tast) and the speaking of the skull (al-Jumjumah) to him what has been narrated, comprehended, and broadcasted.

[300] And from the "Egyptian Treatise" (Al-Risalah al-Misriyyah): the authorship of the venerable Sheikh Muhammad bin Muqatil al-Qati'i - may Allah sanctify him. And Hamzah bin al-Rabi' narrated from our Master Abu Shu'ayb bin 'Amr bin Furat, he said: Our Master al-Ridha - Exalted is His Might - said: "Indeed, Allah has hidden this matter until it was thought that He does not love to manifest it, and He manifested it until it was thought that He is not obliged to hide it," meaning that He concealed His hidden (batin) with His manifest (zahir), and His manifest with His hidden. And the knowing believer is the one who perceives the reality and extracts it from through both of them.
