[285] And from it, by the chain of transmission, from al-Karkhi from Isma'il bin Ali from Muhammad bin Sadaqah from Muhammad bin Sinan from al-Mufaddal - from him is peace - he said: My Master - Exalted is His Might - said:

"Whoever knew Allah from the direction of the Name, then he has been ignorant of more than what he knew. And whoever worshipped the Name and the Meaning, then he has associated partners [with Him] (ashraka). And whoever said that He is not seen, then he has referred to non-existence. And whoever said that the sights perceive Him, then he has likened Him to His creation. And whoever said that He is in His creation, then he has expelled Him to a place. And whoever said that He is external to them, then he has negated His existence. And whoever knew Him by His indications (dala'ilihi) and indicated Him from where His signs manifested, and he believed in what he witnessed of His miracles, then those are the companions of the Commander of the Faithful."

[286] And from it, by the chain of transmission, from al-Sadiq - Exalted is His Might - he said: "Indeed, Allah does not change, and He does not alter, and He does not take a form. And rather, the changing, the altering, the forming, the closeness, and the distance are in the eyes of humans."
