And from it, the questioner said: "Why did Allah not speak to the creation in the Lordship (al-rububiyyah) in which there is no appearance and no form?"

The Scholar - exalted is his might - said: "We have seen various forms so that some may understand from others. And a thing does not understand from what is contrary to its genus, and He is contrary to things. So how can you understand concerning the command and the prohibition?"

The questioner said: "By His power."

The Scholar - exalted is his might - said: "Indeed His power is eternal, so how can the originated (al-muhdath) understand from it? And the originated does not understand from the originated except if it is of its genus. So there must be an appearance like the genus of His creation so that He may speak to them from it, and they may understand from Him His command and His prohibition."

The questioner said: "So does He manifest as if He created it, or does He create a creation, veil Himself with it, or speak from it?"
