is it not probable that there would exist peoples and individuals who resist us and strive toward our erasure in the event of our manifesting what we possess of secrets and knowledges to the public? Knowing that we are weaker than the prophets in knowledge, strength, and support, and that what we call to and manifest is more difficult to accept than what the prophets manifested and called to.

That is a manifest, clear matter, light and easy, while this is a hidden secret, heavy and deemed heavy, which the prophets concealed except from its worthy people.

Indeed, what we possess of secrets and hidden realities is most like the sun when a cloud veils it; the people benefit from it and seek light by means of it while it is behind a veil. And these [realities], society benefits from them while they are treasured in the chests of their gnostic, insightful possessors—or like a lush garden containing various roses, blossoms, and trees possessing good fruits, fortified by a wall surrounding it from all its sides while being upon the public road; the fragrance of its blossoms perfumes the air, so its owners especially enjoy it, and the passersby of the road inhale its aroma from whence they do not see its contents.
