It came in the book "And Among the Luminaries of Islamic Thought" (Wa Min A'lam al-Fikr al-Islami) by its author Dr. Mahdi Fadlallah, the professor in the Faculties of Arts and Education at the Lebanese University, and he is in the context of speaking about the most prominent personality among the luminaries of this thought, namely the First Martyr (al-Shahid al-Awwal) Muhammad bin Makki al-Amili - may Allah have mercy on him.

He said: "As for the reason for his killing, the opinions concerning it have conflicted. For he was accused, according to the saying of some, of dissolution of creed, believing in Nusayrism (al-Nusayriyyah), and deeming pure wine lawful; meaning his extremism (mughalat) in the religious law (Sharia) and his embracing of the Sufi path."

And as the musk of conclusion [the perfect ending] for this chapter, I present to the reader the answer of the late Professor Zaki al-Arsuzi, the teacher of the subject of philosophy in the university and secondary schools. He said to me while we were in the realm of discussion concerning religious matters: "Indeed, I am an admirer of the philosophy of the Islamic religion in a general manner, and very much an admirer of the philosophy of the Alawite school (al-Madhhab al-Alawi) in a special manner, and particularly the issue of the Meaning (al-Ma'na) and the Form (al-Surah)."
