"He did not see His creation by His creation. So if He conceals [Himself], it is in His essence and His unseen. And the one like whom there is nothing, is none but Him, so exalted is the Most High, the Great. O Mufaddal, and you asked about the Will, how did its Originator originate it? So understand what I am mentioning to you, O Mufaddal, for you have asked about a great matter. Indeed your Ancient, Eternal Master - exalted is His remembrance - originates a will of which He has never ceased being knowing. And that was an intent without endeavor, nor occurrence of a thought, nor transition from stillness to movement, nor from movement to stillness, because ability is His nature. And that is that He manifests the Will which is His name, and indicates by it to His essence, not out of a need from Him to it.

So just as it manifested by the nature of wisdom at His intending, the Name and the Knowledge are, in that wisdom is the manifestation of what is in being to the visible. And had He not manifested what He knew from His obscure knowledge into the existence of witnessing of one another, it would have been deficient and the wisdom incomplete, because the completion of power is the act, and the completion of knowledge is the known, and the completion of the universe is the originated."

"So open, O Mufaddal, your heart to the speech of your Imam, and know that the light was not hidden within the Essence so that it manifested from it, nor was it manifest from it so that it hid in it. Rather, the light is from the Essence without apportionment, and absent in His unseen without concealment, and shining from Him without separation, like the ray from the disk and the light from the ray. To your Master, O Mufaddal, He invented the Greatest Name and the Will which originated the things. And there was for the light, at His invention of the Greatest Name, neither increase nor decrease. And the Name is from the light of the Essence without apportionment, and its manifestation is without divisibility; it calls to its Master and indicates to His meaning.
