So he - majestic is his praise - said: "O Mufaddal, indeed the manifestation of the Eternal (al-Azal) among His creation is wondrous, none knows that except a knowing expert. And indeed the Essence is not called light because it is the illuminator of every light. So when He willed, without thought or illusion, the manifestation of the Will (al-Mashiah), He created the Will for the thing, and they are the Mim and the Sin.

So a radiant light shone from His essence, for which the lights cannot stand, not separated from Him. So He manifested the light as an illumination for whoever became distinct from Him, and He manifested the illumination as a shadow, so He established the form of existence between the illumination and the shadow. And He made the light its esoteric (batin), and the Essence is its origin from it, and likewise the Name is not united with His light."
