"And what Muhammad al-Baqir - exalted is his might - informed Jabir of the most rugged of the rugged which was hidden from the rest of the world except from the elite of the specialists and the articulate preservers who were sincere and were chosen, and witnessed the truth by what they acted upon and confirmed by what they saw. As the saying of the Master was mentioned in the Revelation: 'Except those who testify to the truth while they know'. And the matter, O Mufaddal, is subtle, and the secret of this knowledge is obscure. And know that the Essence is exalted above names and attributes, an unseen prevented from it, esoteric, and the hidden subtle is not concealed from it. And there is nothing greater than Him, described by His attribution to it, renowned by His signs, known by His manifestations. He was before the 'before' since there is no 'before', and before He spatialized the 'where' in a way that there is no 'where' other than Him, and before place since there is no place except what He brought into being, and He is to what has no end.
He does not transform from a state, nor from what was of Him from its being, and He does not need a thing so as to seek help by it, nor is He attributed to other than Him so as to be known by him. Rather, He is where He is, and where He was, there was none but Him. O Mufaddal, indeed the manifestation is the completion of the concealment (al-butun), and the concealment is the completion of the manifestation, and the ability and the power are the completion of the act. And whenever the universalities of wisdom are not complete in their concealment, complete in their manifestation, the wisdom would be deficient from the Wise, even if He were capable."
Al-Mufaddal said: I said: "Increase me, O my Master, in explanation by which lives whoever draws near and seeks nearness, from whoever walks by your light and recognizes you with the true recognition."
