And the Commander of the Faithful said, and it was mentioned that the names of the heavenly books are gathered in the dot which is under the [letter] Ba' in 'Bismillah' (In the name of Allah): "I am the Dot."
And from it: And the Commander of the Faithful was a participant with him, meaning the Messenger, wherever he was absent and present. So he is the secret that is not denied except by whoever refuses and disbelieves, and the guardian (wali) to whom the deeds of humans are presented. And to him is the indication by his saying: "Its exoteric (zahir) is Imamate and legateship (wasiyyah), and its esoteric (batin) is an unseen that is not perceived." Reflect, O reader, and judge, and believe what you wish.
[263] And from it: And al-Hasan al-Basri narrated that when al-Khidr met with Moses, and there was between them what was, a sparrow came and took a drop from the sea and placed it upon the hands of Moses. So al-Khidr said: "What is this?" He said: It says: "Our knowledge and the knowledge of the rest of the first ones and the last ones, in [comparison to] the knowledge of the legatee (wasi) of the Prophet, is nothing but like this drop in this sea."
