[252] And from them and about them, meaning the Imams, that they said: "Be an adornment for us and do not be a disgrace upon us. For indeed there is no kinship between Allah and anyone of His creation. Except whoever follows an Imam, let him act by his action, so what is its meaning is an exoneration from the Fire. And we have no argument against Allah. So beware of disobeying us and exaggerating (mughalah) concerning us. For indeed the exaggerators (ghulat) are the most evil of the creation of Allah; they diminish the greatness of Allah and claim lordship for the slaves of Allah.

By Allah, indeed the exaggerators are more evil than the Jews and the Christians and the Magians and those who associate partners [with Allah]. To us the exaggerator returns, but we do not accept him; he became accustomed to abandoning prayer, almsgiving (zakat), and fasting, to its end."

Notice and Clarification (Tanbih wa Tawdih): In this is an indication to the blameworthy exaggeration (al-ghuluw al-madhmum) which I previously spoke about, and our Master al-Sadiq had reminded his companions in detail. And from this speech here we understand that this exaggeration, its meaning is the diminishing of the greatness of Allah by the belief in His manifestation and His incarnation (hulul) in the weak created being, or attributing His actions to other than the Truth, like the saying that He compelled His slaves to do the ugly [deed] and the like of it.

And in this speech also is an explicit indication to those who deviated from the right path and incarnated the Deity in His creation, like those who said of His manifestation - forbid it - in "Ali Khan" Aga Khan, and their likes are those who said and believed in His manifestation - He is exalted - in "al-Baha'" the Baha'is, and "al-Hakim bi-Amr Allah",
