Clarification (Tawdih): Perhaps a confusion occurs for the reader in his thinking when he stops at the phrase "Indeed Allah made Ali a sign between Him and His creation", so the matter leads him to the belief in his createdness, upon the consideration that he became a made sign for an actor who is Allah. For indeed the like of this, when it is narrated, is for covering (taghtiyah) and cloaking (talbis), as we previously mentioned; this is from one side. And from another, indeed this sign which Allah made between Him and His creation is the exoteric (zahir) of Allah, which is the visible form. So whoever acknowledges it and recognizes it with the true recognition, establishing for it the conquering power and negating from it the manifestations of incapacity, is a believer. And whoever rejects it, outweighing the scale of incapacity over the miracle-worker (al-mu'jiz), is a disbeliever.
The Almighty said in His book: "There the authority is for Allah, the True."
[247] And from it: It was narrated from Abu Al-Hasan that he said: "The authority of Ali is written in all the scrolls."
