[240] And from it: And in "Al-Manaqib", the Commander of the Faithful - exalted is his might - was asked: "How did you enter the morning?" He said: "I entered the morning and I am the greatest veracious one (al-Siddiq al-Akbar) and the supreme discriminator (al-Faruq al-A'zam), and I am the legatee of the best of humans. And I am the First and I am the Last, and I am the Esoteric and I am the Exoteric, and I am knowing of every thing. And I am the eye of Allah, and I am the side of Allah, and I am the trustee of Allah over the messengers. By us Allah was worshipped, and we are the treasurers of Allah in His earth and His heaven. And I give life and cause death, and I am living, I do not die." The Almighty said: ["And Allah gives life and causes death"] 1 , and He, Glorified be He, said at the beginning of the mentioned Surah: ["Alif, Lam, Meem * Allah - there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of existence"] 2 , meaning the one who does not die and does not cease.
