And I, in my turn, say in the explanation of these words of our Master: His saying "I the essence of the essences" comes with the meaning: I am the ultimate of the ultimates, and the meaning of the meanings. And "the essence in the essences", meaning the visible form in the luminous and human beings, "for the essence",
meaning (Allah is the light of the abstract divinity) with the meaning it is He and the exoteric of the esoteric.
[225] And from it: What Ibn Abbas narrated from the Commander of the Faithful (exalted is his might), that he said: "Behind Qaf is a world to which no one reaches other than me, and I am the encompasser of what is behind it and the knower of it like my knowledge of this world of yours, and I am the preserver, the witness over it. And if I wanted to traverse the world in less than the blink of an eye, I would do [it]. I have with me of the Greatest Name, and I am the greatest sign and the dazzling miracle." I leave to the reader the giving of the opinion concerning this speech.
