[223] And from it: So he said: "Do you boast against me, O Husayn?" He said: "Yes, O my father, if you will." So the Imam Ali (exalted is his might) said to him: "O Husayn, I am the Commander of the Faithful, I am the tongue of the truthful ones,

I am the vizier of the Chosen One (al-Mustafa), I am the treasurer of the knowledge of Allah," up to his saying: "I am the judge of the Messenger, I am the taker by the right hand. I am the firm rope of Allah which Allah commanded that they hold fast to in His saying: "And hold firmly to the rope of Allah all together and do not become divided", up to his saying: "I am the speaking tongue of Allah, I am the strong hand of Allah, I am the face of Allah the Exalted in the heavens, I am the manifest side of Allah," up to his saying: "I am the most trustworthy handhold of Allah which has no break, I am the door of Allah from which He is approached, I am the sign of Allah upon the path," up to his saying: "So whoever holds fast to my authority (wilayah) and my love is safe from the Fire. I am the killer of the oath-breakers (al-Nakithin), the deviators (al-Qasitin), and the renegades (al-Mariqin)."

[224] And from it, the book Mashariq al-Anwar fi Haqa'iq al-Asrar, from the saying of our Master the Commander of the Faithful (exalted is his might): "I am I, and I am I. I am the essence of the essences, and the essence in the essences is for the essence."
