[204] And from it: And in the Musnad of Ibn Hanbal, on the authority of Ibn Abbas, who said: Ali said upon the pulpit: "Ask me before you lose me. Ask me about the Book of Allah, and there is not a verse except that I know where it was revealed, at the foot of a mountain, or a plain, or a land. And ask me about the tribulations, for there is no tribulation except that I have known who acquired it and who will be killed in it."
Elucidation (Tabyin): This saying and what preceded it is evidence that he is knowing of all things, the knowledge of the unseen, the Hour, and the Book. He (Mighty and Majestic) said: "And Allah is, of all things, Knowing." The knowledge of the unseen, the Hour, and the Book. He (Mighty and Majestic) said: ["And those who have disbelieved say, 'You are not a messenger.' Say, 'Sufficient is Allah as a witness between me and you, and whoever has the knowledge of the Book.'"] 1
