"On the night I was taken on the night journey to the heaven, I did not pass by any assembly of angels except that they asked me about Ali, until I thought that his name is more famous than my name."
Note (Malhuzah): Indeed, the thought of the Messenger (exalted is his might) is not like our thought, which is mixed with error and correctness. Rather, it is a firm reality and is constantly correct, by the evidence of his saying (exalted is his might): "Beware of the thoughts of the believers, for indeed Allah has placed the truth upon their tongues." So how about him, when he is the pinnacle of faith, and according to us, the people of the esoteric (Ahl al-Batin), he is the Veil, and according to the exotericists among the Muslims, he is the most majestic of the creation of Allah.
[193] And from it: Then he, meaning Muhammad, took the hand of Ali, and said: "O people, this is the master (mawla) of the believers." The Almighty said: ["That is because Allah is the protector of those who have believed and because the disbelievers have no protector."] 1
