And we have the right to ask after that: is there anyone in existence who explicitly declared by his saying that he is the First and the Last, the Manifest and the Hidden, and he is, of all things, Knowing, other than Allah and Ali? And is there anyone in existence who has been described by others with these attributes other than Allah and Ali? Here is Abraham the close friend of Allah (Khalil Allah), Moses the one who spoke to Him (Kalimuhu), Jesus His Spirit (Ruhuhu), Muhammad His beloved (Habibuhu), and Gabriel the greatest of His angels; have we heard or has it reached us that any of them said "I am the First and the Last, and the Manifest, and the Hidden, and I am, of all things, Knowing' or that another person addressed them with the like of that? Let the observer reflect.

[189] And from it: And from that is what Al-Bursi narrated in the book Al-Ayat, on the authority of Abu Abd Allah (exalted be his might), that the Messenger of Allah (exalted be his might) said to the Commander of the Faithful: "O Ali, you are the judge (dayyan) of this nation, and the one who undertakes its account.
