As for the extremist lover (al-muhibb al-ghali), it is not hidden from us that the perishing of the extremist lover—that is, the one who exceeds the limit in the view of the people of shortcoming, not in reality—occurs only through what befalls him and happens to him in terms of weakness, poverty, lowliness, and persecution in this world. And the perishing of the hateful detractor (al-mubghid al-qali) is in the Fire, as I have previously clarified in the first chapter; with a reminder to the reader that I have explicitly stated the meaning of "extremist" (ghalin) and "detractor" (mubghid),

and they may refer back to it in its proper place in the aforementioned chapter.

[187] And from it: From the Messenger (exalted is his might), who said: "O Ibn 'Umar, Ali is to me in the position of the soul to the body," up to his saying: "And indeed, Ali is to me in the position of the head to the body."

[188] And from it: And from the book Al-Manaqib, he said, the Messenger of Allah (exalted is his might) said: "Indeed, Allah has a pillar of light that illuminates for the people of Paradise just as the sun does for the people of the world. And indeed, the ring of the gate of Paradise is made of a red ruby, surrounded by green chrysolite (zabarjad), its length is fifty years, resting upon plates of gold. When it is struck, it rings, and in its ringing it says: 'O Ali'."
