❖ From Surah Al-Buruj ❖
The Verse: [“Indeed, the vengeance of your Lord is severe. * Indeed, it is He who originates and repeats. * And He is the Forgiving, the Affectionate, * Honorable Owner of the Throne, * Effecter of what He intends.”] 1
This is an allusion to the valor our Master possessed against the disbelievers and the severity of his strike upon them. It was recorded in the Sharh al-Nahj [Commentary on Nahj al-Balagha] by Sheikh Muhammad 'Abduh: "The strikes of Ali were unprecedented (abkaran [fatal on the first blow]); if he struck from above, he cleaved lengthwise (qadda), and if he struck crosswise, he severed entirely (qatta)." And He (exalted are His bounties) never intended a thing except that it happened, and nothing in the earth or in the heaven could thwart Him.
