By Allah, he who takes you as his master has triumphed, and he who opposes you has failed."

The First Verse: [“Indeed, those who oppose Allah and His Messenger—those will be among the most humbled.”] 1
This is an allusion to those who showed enmity toward the Commander of the Faithful—Exalted is His might—and the Messenger—Exalted is His might—such as Abu Jahl, Abu Lahab, the group of nine, the Umayyads, and the Makhzum. Their hostility toward the Messenger was manifested by their defiance of his command and their display of enmity toward his successor (wasi) and guardian (wali), by undermining his right and engaging in disputing and fighting against him.
The Second Verse: “Have you not considered that Allah knows what is in the heavens and what is on the earth? There is no private conversation of three but He is the fourth of them, nor of five but He is the sixth of them—and no less than that and no more except that He is with them [wherever] they are.
