Ali is the First and the Last, the Manifest and the Hidden, and He is, of all things, Knowing.'”

[140] In the book ’Uyun al-Mu’jizat, there is a tradition with an isnad (chain of narration) leading to Abu Dharr al-Ghifari (peace be upon him), who said: I saw the Master Muhammad (exalted be his might), and he said to the Commander of the Faithful (exalted be his might) one night: "When tomorrow comes, head to the hills of al-Baqi' and stand upon a raised part of the earth. When the sun rises, greet it, for Allah has commanded it to answer you with what is within you." When the next day arrived, the Commander of the Faithful went out, accompanied by Abu Bakr, Umar, and a group of the Muhajirun and Ansar, until he reached al-Baqi' and stood on a rise of earth. When the sun showed its horn, he (exalted be his might) said: "Peace be upon you, O new and obedient creation of Allah." They heard a buzzing sound in the sky and the answer of one saying: "And upon you be peace, O First, O Last, O Manifest, O Hidden, O You who are of all things Knowing."
