Furthermore, so that the soundness of what I have presented regarding the phrase “and they fell down to him in prostration” is confirmed to the reader, it is stated in the Arabic language dictionary:

“He fell prostrate to Allah (kharra lillahi sajidan): he threw himself upon the ground, prostrated, and fell upon his face.” Whereas the prostration of obedience occurs through bowing; it is said: “He prostrated a prostration (sajada sujudan): he bowed in submission.” And prostration (sujud) comes with the meaning of a person placing his forehead upon the ground in worship (ta'abbudan).
