The Second Verse: [“Our Lord has encompassed all things in knowledge.”] 1
Our master has spoken about a great multitude of hidden matters and unveiled a vast number of the secrets of existence. He was never incapacitated before any of life's dilemmas; whatever he willed, came to be. If he was asked about a matter, he answered immediately without thinking or hesitation.
[63] And from the book Yanabi' al-Mawaddah: Ibn Abbas said: “The Imam was given nine-tenths of knowledge, and he is the most knowledgeable among them regarding the remaining tenth.” He also said: “The Imam Ali took my hand on a moonlit night and went out with me to Al-Baqi' after the Isha prayer, and he said, ‘Read, O Abdullah.’ So I read, ‘In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful’ (Bismillah al-Rahman al-Rahim). He then spoke to me concerning the secrets of the letter Ba' until the break of dawn.”
And from the book Mashariq al-Anwar: Al-Hasan al-Basri narrated that when Al-Khidr met Moses, and there occurred between them what occurred, a sparrow came and took a drop from the sea and placed it upon the hand of Moses.
