In his saying: “We are the middle cushion,” there is an indication to the human form in which the Creator manifested, and whose world is considered “the middle isthmus” between the world of spirit and the world of matter, and it becomes clear from his saying: “and to which the extremist returns” that He is the Creator—Exalted is His praise—and the extremist is the monotheistic believer, and that his return is to his master and his homecoming is to his radiant, spacious courtyard, by the evidence of His saying, the Exalted:[“And seek help through patience and prayer, and indeed, it is difficult except for the humbly submissive * Who are certain that they will meet their Lord and that they will return to Him.”] 1 , and His saying, Glory be to Him:[“Who is it that would loan Allah a goodly loan so He may multiply it for him many times over? And it is Allah who withholds and grants abundance, and to Him you will be returned.”] 2 , and His saying—Exalted is His praise—:[“And give good tidings to the patient * Who, when disaster strikes them, say, "Indeed we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we will return."”] 3 ,
