[54] The tradition of Umar bin Abdullah bin Ya'la bin Murrah al-Thaqafi, from his father, from Abd Khayr, who said: “I was with Ali, the Commander of the Faithful, in the land of Babylon when the time for the Asr prayer arrived.

We could not find a place except that we found it more loathsome than the last, until we came upon a place that was the most beautiful we had seen, yet the sun had nearly set. He said: So Ali dismounted, and I dismounted with him.

He said: Then he supplicated to Allah, and the sun returned to its position corresponding to the time of the Asr prayer. So we prayed Asr, and then it set.”

[55] And in the book Yanabi' al-Mawaddah, it is reported that he returned it while he was with the Master Messenger—His might was mighty—during one of his journeys. They arrived at a wide meadow with pleasant air and water, and the Messenger—His might was mighty—slept in the lap of the Commander of the Faithful—His might was mighty—who remained still until the sun set. The Commander of the Faithful—His might was mighty—did not wish to awaken him from the sweetness of his sleep. After the Messenger—His might was mighty—awoke, the Commander of the Faithful said: “O Messenger of Allah, the sun has set and we have not prayed Asr.” So he said to him: “Address it, for it will return to you white and pure,”
