At that, the Imam stood up, praised Allah and extolled Him, mentioned the Prophet and invoked blessings upon him, and said:

“O people of Kufa, the cow of the Children of Israel is not grander in status before Allah than me, and I am the brother of the Messenger of Allah, and I have brought a dead man to life after seven days.” Then the Commander of the Faithful—His might was mighty—drew near to the dead man and said to him: “Rise by the permission of Allah, O Mudrik bin Hanzalah bin Ghassan bin Buhayr bin Qahr bin Salamah bin Tayyib bin al-Ash'ath bin al-Ahwas bin Wahilah bin Amr bin al-Fadl bin Habab, rise! For Allah has brought you back to life by the permission of Allah the Exalted.”
