Our master al-Sadiq—His might was mighty—clarified in this speech of his and uncovered the blamed aspect of extremism, he mentioned that its being with the Christians who say [and believe] in the divinity of the Master Messiah—His might was mighty—whose station is prophethood, and with the Qadiriyyah who say that the actions of man are all proceeding by his independent will from the will of Allah, in the sense that Allah has no volition in that, just as some of them launch [this term] against those who say that the actions proceeding from the servant are all created by Allah and predestined upon the servant whether it is good or evil, and with the Murji'ah, and they are the ones who say that no sin harms alongside faith and no obedience benefits alongside disbelief, and the Haruriyyah are joined by the Kharijites who rebelled against the Commander of the Faithful during the arbitration.

[5] And it came from our master, the Imam, in the book of Al-Ihtijaj, his saying: “And two classes will perish concerning me: an excessive lover whom love takes to other than the truth, and an excessive detester whom hatred takes to other than the truth.”
