And it was reported in the book of Al-Muhtadar, within the account of the allegiance and the allegiance of Ghadir Khumm, regarding what the three stated and their manifestation of joy toward it, as well as the rest of the group. Among the statements of the second to our master—His might was mighty—on that occasion was: “Congratulations to you, O son of Abi Talib, you have become the Mawla of every believing man and believing woman.” This was part of their deception, as they manifested the opposite of what they harbored.

And the Exalted said in Surah Al-Baqarah:[“So We said, ‘Strike him with a part of it.’ Thus Allah brings the dead to life and He shows you His signs that you might reason.”] 1 , which is an indication toward what our master—Majestic is His praise—carried out by way of bringing the dead to life numerous times, and demonstrating divine miracles and godly power, which are expressed as signs (al-ayat)—meaning the markers of the emblems of lordship (rububiyyah)—which I shall bring forth in its proper place, by the permission of Allah.

And from the very same Surah:[“Fight in the way of Allah those who fight you but do not transgress. Indeed. Allah does not like transgressors.”] 2 . This is a command from our master to the believers to fight and to stand by his side against those disbelievers among the polytheists who stood in the face of the Islamic call, and those who opposed him regarding the caliphate and fought him over it. Within His saying, the Exalted: “but do not transgress. Indeed. Allah does not like transgressors.”
