The proof of this is the saying of the Exalted at the end of the verse: “and they perceive [it] not”, meaning they do not perceive that the one they are seeking to deceive is their Lord and Creator, and that the consequence of their deception will return upon them.

And let me suffice with this regarding the proof and demonstration by way of the characters in alphanumeric calculation (al-jumal al-hisabi), moving on to the verses that indicate the divinity of our master by allusion (talwihan) and explicit declaration (tasrihan), in a manner that leaves no room for the disputant. I shall begin from Surah Al-Baqarah and what follows, without relying on order or sequence in terms of the strength of the evidence or the standard of the proof; rather, that is left to the refinement of the reader's taste and perception.
