An example of this is His saying—Mighty and Majestic—in Surah Muhammad: [“That is because Allah is the protector (mawla) of those who have believed and because the disbelievers have no protector (la mawla lahum) for them.”]1 , meaning that Allah is Ali, the protector of those who have believed and Hā, Mīm, ‘Ayn, Sīn, Qāf (حم عسق) can be approached from another angle: if we join the Qāf (ق) from its end to the Hā’ (ح) from its beginning,
and place the Mīm (م) between the ‘Ayn (ع) and the Sīn (س), it yields the meaning of the truth of “‘A-M-S” (عمس). This means that the ‘Ayn (ع)—which symbolizes Ali (علي), the Meaning (al-Ma'na)—the Mīm (م)—symbolizing Muhammad (محمد), the Name (al-Ism)—and the Sīn (س)—symbolizing Salman (سلمان), the Gate (al-Bab)—are truth; signifying an oath of estimation: (And by the truth of ‘Amas / وحق عمس). Each of these three explanations is precise, elegant, and a source of conviction and verification for the people of spiritual unveiling and verification (ahl al-kashf wa-l-tahqiq).
