It is similar to their interpretation of His saying, the Exalted, in the Quran:[“Do they await except that Allah should come to them in shadows of clouds and the angels and the matter is judged? And to Allah all matters are returned.”] 1 , where they interpret His coming, the Exalted, as the coming of His command. Here, they interpret His coming, His dawning, and His shining forth—Majestic is His praise—as the coming, dawning, and shining forth of His three messengers: Moses, Jesus, and Muhammad—His might was mighty. Whereas when we say, “President So-and-So came,” and if the one who actually came was his deputy So-and-So, our first statement would be erroneous, and we would have to say: “The President’s deputy came.” Only then would the statement completely align with reality.
The meaning of “The Lord came from Sinai” is a proof of the manifestation of our master Joshua there alongside the Master Moses; and among his divine miracles was the returning of the sun and the moon.
