The reality eluded them, and they missed that when the Creator described Himself by His saying—Majestic is His praise—: “There is nothing like unto Him,” and “Vision perceives Him not,”
He only points toward the fortified Unseen—meaning the unknown sheath that is neither seen nor perceived. And when He spoke of Himself by His saying: “The hand of Allah is over their hands,” and “And your Lord has come and the angels, rank upon rank,” and “Indeed, those who abuse Allah,” He only points toward the visible image—the “known boundary”—which appeared like the form of humans with a face, two hands, coming, and their likes. And the meaning of the disbelievers’ abusing Him is their fighting against Him and defaming Him during the state of His manifestation among them in this image; yet in reality, He transcends senses, materiality, incapacity, transformation, and locomotion.
