And if He, the Exalted, had manifested with the light of pure divinity (lahut), natural entities would have dissolved and material existences would have vanished. Supporting the correctness of that is what happened to the Master Moses when he requested the vision, and there appeared to him from the light of divinity the amount of a small needle's eye, whereupon he fell down unconscious and the likeness of His manifestation, Glory be to Him, to the human creation in their form, bringing them comfort and helping them understand from Him, is like a university professor when he explains a lesson to elementary school pupils.

By the nature of their capacities, they would not understand him if the professor explained using the logic, style, and language he employs when lecturing university students. However, they understand him and benefit from him when he descends to their level in explanation, addressing them in accordance with their readiness, aptitude, and capability. His explaining the lesson to them according to their level and in line with their capacities—and his choosing phrases and analyzing meanings for them in an easy, appropriate language—none of that diminishes his scholarly value,
