And what argument remains for the stubborn denier against his Master, when He has invited him to faith and uprightness Himself? That was from Him, the Exalted, out of compassion, generosity, humility, and facilitation, on the account that man—this sensing, perceiving creature—possesses his own value in His Majesty's presence relative to all other natural creatures.

And to this is the indication from the saying of our master the Commander of the Faithful—His might was mighty—as he addresses this referenced being:

And you claim that you are a small body,

Yet within you, the greater world is enfolded.

Indeed, a thing only familiarizes with what is of its kind, finds comfort in whoever is in its image, and understands from whoever addresses it in its language. Therefore, the Creator, the Exalted, appeared to all peoples, across their varying languages and dispositions, in their own image and languages, so that they might find comfort in Him and understand from Him. For if He had appeared to them in a luminous form, comfort and understanding would not have occurred, since light differs from matter and varies from it.
