And let us mention what occurred with the Master Abraham, the Intimate Friend (al-Khalil), and the Master Lot regarding the manifestation of the angels to them both in human form—and the Quran mentioned their story, and the reader may review it in its proper places within the Book of Allah.

The Creator represented Himself to us as a human person on account of our being humans who cannot see Him in the light of absolute divinity; He appeared in the likeness of our forms, presenting Himself in accordance with our capacities. Just so, the heavenly messages addressed the people in accordance with their readiness, bringing that which paced and harmonized with their environments; and just as competent teachers do not drop below or transcend in their explanations and teachings the comprehensions of the students.
