whom you strive to seek, and whose commands you rise to implement, that He should remain always and forever obscured from you, persisting in His abandonment of you? And do your enlightened intellects and pure insights accept that the likes of this Beloved, who is described with justice, wisdom, and mercy, should meet His lovers who yearn for His meeting and are consumed in His love with perpetual rejection and eternal estrangement?

Indeed, the likes of this treatment only issue from arrogant, tyrannical kings and rulers whose selfishness and vanity drove them to veil themselves from the eyes of their subjects in the corners of their grand palaces and ivory towers. But the Lord of Mercies—this loyal, affectionate Beloved—transcends far above being described with the likes of this cruelty, or withholding from His lover, who is earnest in seeking Him, a possible matter wherein lies the ultimate wisdom and magnificent spiritual pleasure that no other pleasure can equal, alongside what that loyal lover receives from his majestic Beloved of oral teachings and behavioral manners.
