And if we were to ask those who maintain the negation of vision: What is the aspect of wisdom in the Creator obscuring Himself entirely from His rational servants—who are not devoid of capability and knowledge—despite the existence of the Necessary Being and His description with absolute capability and the overflowing intellect, both of which are essential in His presence and bestowed, borrowed upon His creation from Him? Indeed, if we were to confront those who deny the vision with this necessary, well-founded question, they would stand silent before it, or they would answer that this is only for reasons required by His will which we do not know, or they would adduce flimsy arguments in a pretense of being capable of supporting their claims with evidence—yet those arguments would not fail to crumble before the decisive demonstration.

And we appeal to the theological scholars and the philosophers of ultimate realities (al-falasifah al-haqaiqiyyin) who strive in acts of obedience and exhaust themselves in worship and intimate prayers—we appeal to them, saying: By your Lord, does it please you from that majestic Beloved, whose mention you constantly utter,
