What is Mandatory for the Disciple Upon His Master

And as for the believing, Gnosis-knowing one, the one seeking understanding in the religion, the one who recognizes the paths of the Monotheists, when he wants to apprentice disciples and take for himself children, then the first of what he begins with before their drinking of the remnant-water is that he makes them recognize how they enter upon the group, and how their service to them and their obedience near them will be for a period of the time, so if they emulated that and obeyed their master in what he commands them with of the obedience of the believers and the fulfillment of their needs and their rights and the emulation of their commands and their prohibitions, and they accepted that a good acceptance, and their master commands them after that with the drinking of the remnant-water in the presence of the Imam, the chief, and whoever is near to them in the lineage and the descent.

And after that, he disciplines them with the disciplines of God and the disciplines of His Messenger and what is mandatory upon them of the legislated obligations and the followed traditions,
