And if the Originator, the Exalted, is not perceived by sights despite His manifestation through His light, the sun is likewise—and it is merely one of His creations—for it is impossible to visually verify its true essence despite its manifestation through its light. How then could it be possible for the Essence of the Originator, the Exalted, to be perceived by the sense of sight despite His manifestation through His light? And when He is hidden, He veils His light despite its physical manifestation, since the light never separates from the Essence. Thus, He veils the light with the radiance, and the Essence with the light. What is closest to us, from us, and to our sights is only the radiance—which is wisdom [by means of the eclipse, and its likeness is that which is hidden] 1 by it, such as the moon, the eclipse of the sun, and its light, since it is the concealer and the barrier between our sights and the body of the sun and its light despite its manifestation. Likewise, the radiance is the concealer and the barrier between our sights and the Light and the Essence, alongside the physical manifestation according to what we have mentioned.
