THE MEANING OF MANIFESTATION THROUGH POWER AND HIDDENNESS THROUGH WISDOM
We say: Indeed, the analogy for what we have mentioned regarding the meaning of the Originator's manifestation through power and His hiddenness through wisdom is the sun and its rising. Whenever it rises above the horizon, it is manifest to the entirety of the people of that region, and whenever it sets beneath the horizon, it becomes absent from them and manifest to others.
Likewise, the Originator, the Exalted, upon His manifestation, appears to a people and is absent from a people, yet there is no true absence for Him. The sun may also experience an eclipse, which is when its light is veiled from sights by the body of the moon, despite its manifestation according to what the philosophers among the people of knowledge have mentioned. Yet, most of the common folk imagine that the body apparent to their sights is merely the body of the sun,
