O Sheikh, it is as if you have not verified what kind of [thing]1 the unperceivable unseen actually is. This is an evil suspicion on your part and an accusation with which you have charged me.

But I, by the help of God, shall clarify the corruption of your suspicion. As for me, I am a believer that the Meaning (al-Ma'na) is One, Singular, Absolute, an Essence self-subsisting through knowledge, power, action, and the miracle that none among the created beings can bring the like of; and He is the Commander of the Bees (Amir al-Nahl), His glory is magnificent, by His very self. The unseen that cannot be perceived is His command, His will, and His knowledge, which no Name (Ism) and no Gate (Bab) can encompass—so how could a created human encompass it?

And by this, the worlds deduced His existence, while He is outward and visible by His very self. His knowledge is the unseen that cannot be encompassed, and it is the descending command that sights do not fall upon, intellects do not perceive, and which does not fall under letters, nor is it sensed, nor is it touched.
