lest they tempt you away from some of what God has revealed to you. And if they turn away - then know that God only intends to afflict them for some of their sins. And indeed, many among the people are defiantly disobedient] 1 , [and many of them are defiantly disobedient] 2 , [Then is it the judgment of [the time of] ignorance they desire? But who is better than God in judgment for a people who are certain [in faith]] 3
And you, O Sheikh, your companions have tempted you, and to the judgment of the time of ignorance they followed you. So look at His promise and His warning to the people of the four Books regarding whoever judges by other than what God revealed and legislated; for a warning has come to you from your Lord, so do not be among the doubters.
And the Exalted said: [Say, "O mankind, the truth has come to you from your Lord, so whoever is guided is only guided for [the benefit of] his soul,
